Joe Biden just can’t stop telling the fibs

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Biden is caught in another one. This time from the Washington Post.

During last week’s debate with his counterpart on the Republican ticket, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Biden twice gave himself credit for shifting U.S. policy on Bosnia. The senator from Delaware declared that he “was the catalyst to change the circumstance in Bosnia led by President Clinton.” At another point he noted: “My recommendations on Bosnia — I admit I was the first one to recommend it. They saved tens of thousands of lives.”

But, despite the bravado, Biden was not a key player in the legislation that ultimately forced Bill Clinton to lift an arms embargo imposed by the United Nations on Bosnian Muslims fighting the Serbs, according to congressional officials involved in the issue and a review of Biden’s speeches and voting record.

When you add in all the other lies and misstatements of facts by Biden during the debate, it makes you wonder if Obama is going to make the switch to Hillary soon. If Palin had made these mistakes, the mainstream media would be going nuts!

Biden lies again

Friday, September 26th, 2008

I loved the part where Biden says “it’s almost unbelievable.” That’s because it is. If you don’t believe me, check out the fact check by the Washington Post

By most independent calculations, the McCain plan will leave most taxpayers better off in strictly financial terms, at least until 2013. After 2013, the benefits will begin to diminish. By 2018, taxpayers in the top quintile will be slightly worse off, but middle-income taxpayers will either break even or be slightly ahead. According to the non-partisan Tax Policy Center, the McCain proposals will result in a net benefit of $1,241 to the average tax payer in 2009, $895 in 2013, and $386 in 2018.

“It is not fair to pull out just one part of the McCain proposal,” said Eric Toder, a TPC analyst. “It is a package. They are giving back more than they are taking away.”

Biden either has no clue about McCain’s plan, or he’s just lying.

Joe Biden Gaffe Machine

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Here’s a link to my article about Joe Biden’s gaffes posted on Human Events. Here’s a little sample:

Commenting on our current economic crisis and volatility in the stock market, Biden criticized President Bush’s leadership style by telling CBS news, “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’” Yup, and then FDR  jumped on the Internet, bought some Microsoft stock and updated his Facebook page. Sorry, Joe, TV wasn’t introduced to America until the 1939 World’s Fair and Herbert Hoover was president when the stock market crashed. Other than that, good stuff.

Thanks for reading the whole thing.

Joe is having a few bad days - Now he blows depression history

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Does this man ever engage his brain before he starts talking?

“When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed,” Biden told Couric. “He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’”

Yeah, that’s what happened. Then FDR got on the Internet and sent out a bunch of e-mails. Not only was the television not invented in 1929, but the president’s name was Hoover. Way to go, Joe.

The Story Behind Biden’s Emergency Helicopter Landing in Afghanistan

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

First it was Hillary telling us about her near-death experience in Bosnia. Now Biden is telling us how he was forced down in his helicopter in Afghanistan.

“If you want to know where Al Qaeda lives, you want to know where Bin Laden is, come back to Afghanistan with me,” Biden said. “Come back to the area where my helicopter was forced down, with a three-star general and three senators at 10,500 feet in the middle of those mountains. I can tell you where they are.”

Wow, it sounds like Biden & Co. were in big trouble in Afghanistan.  I wonder what happened?

In February 2008, Biden — along with Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., and Chuck Hagel, R-Neb. — was on a chopper that made an emergency landing in the mountains of Afghanistan.

A snowstorm had forced them down.

No one was injured, and the Associated Press reported at the time that “the senators and their delegation returned to Bagram Air Base in a motor convoy, and left for Turkey.

Kerry joked, “We were going to send Biden out to fight the Taliban with snowballs, but we didn’t have to do it…Other than getting a little cold, it was fine.”

It looks like the walking gaffe machine, Joe Biden, is at it again. Between this and his continued propagation of a thoroughly debunked rumor that the person who killed his wife and child was driving drunk , it makes you wonder where Biden will strike next.

Biden calls paying higher taxes a patriotic act

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

First, Obama told us that paying more taxes was just the neighborly thing to do. Now Biden is saying paying more taxes is the patriotic thing to do.

“We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people,” Biden said in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Noting that wealthier Americans would indeed pay more, Biden said: “It’s time to be patriotic … time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut.”

This from the guy who donates less than one quarter of 1% of his adjusted gross income to charity. Wow.

it is not Obama and Biden’s money to take to give to middle-class people. When you take money out of someone else’s pocket and give it to other people, that is called theft. That is not compassionate. Being compassionate is taking money out of your own pocket to help people who need it. That is something that Joe bind is not very good at.

Joe Biden shows his lack of knowledge on basic economics.  When he asserts that raising taxes will increase the economic output of the nation. History has shown the exact opposite is true. Even Obama has recently admitted that he will not raise taxes while the economy is in trouble.

Most of Obama so-called middle-class tax cut will really be refundable tax credits. That means that people who pay zero income tax right now will actually be getting welfare payments from the government paid by people who actually do pay income taxes.

I will say it again, McCain needs to publish a true middle class tax cut.  The way to do that is to allow people to invest part of their Social Security taxes and their Medicare taxes.  That is a bold plan that would really change the system. I don’t think he has the guts to do it.
