SNL hit on McCain - idea by Senatorial candidate Al Franken

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Here’s the skit crafted by Democrat Al Franken for SNL.

Franken, who hasn’t been a staff writer on the show for 13 years, “phoned in” a spoof of McCain recording campaign ads in an edit booth, said an NBC source. Seth Meyers, the show’s current head writer, wrote it, but the sketch was hatched by Franken, a longtime liberal satirist and comedian.

An SNL insider said that, as of the Wednesday script read-through, Franken was the “credited writer with Meyers” on the opening sketch. Show veteran Darrell Hammond is to play McCain.

You can tell Al Franken had something to do with the skit, because it’s not that funny. I guess this is what we expect from the mainstream media. Does anyone believe that if a Republican candidate phone in an idea for a skit to skewer Obama that Saturday Night Live would run with it? Right.

Mexican brewery taps name of crime legend

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Posted by Tim..

GUADALAJARA, Mexico - A new beer named after the “patron saint” of drug traffickers is brewing up controversy in Mexico, where the government is locked in a bloody battle against drug gangs.

Malverde Beer is named after Jesús Malverde, a Robin Hood-style figure who is revered by drug smugglers in the western Mexico state of Sinaloa. It debuted in April and has been spreading to bars around western Mexico. The brewer plans to sell it in the United States, too.

MySpace lecture generates outrage

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

It looks like this officer was trying to warn students about the dangers of what they put on their my space pages.  That’s admirable, but he absolutely crossed the line in the way he humiliated these children.

Students and parents at Windsor High School are outraged after a Wyoming police officer doing a presentation on Internet safety scrutinized individual students’ MySpace pages, calling the students’ pictures “slutty” and saying their sites invited sexual predators.

“He told the entire student body that he had shared her info with a sexual predator in prison,” said Ty Nordic, whose daughter Shaylah Nordic’s MySpace page was put on display.

Shaylah Nordic said Gay told the student body that the predator said he would masturbate to her picture and then “tear her apart.”

Dude, that is totally out of control.  The children are minors.  The officer could have made his point without using this type of degrading technique.  If he did this to my daughters, I would be extremely upset.  Exit question: what kind of discipline, should this police officer get?

Fury at Disney ‘Dive in’ underpants

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

I think this may be a mountain out of a molehill time.

HIGH School Musical knickers for young girls have sparked outrage — because they have the words “Dive in” on them.

Civil servant Sue, 57, said: “When she put them on, myself and my daughter thought, ‘Oh my goodness’. It is inappropriate because it is sexually suggestive.

I understand the sexualization of our children and I fight it all the time. Shorts with “juicy” on the butts and padded bras for 7-year-olds are ridiculous. But take a look at the photo of the underwear. Is that really meant to be sexually suggestive? It’s a line from the movie.

Principal who punished 3 who sat during pledge foresees policy rewording

Friday, May 9th, 2008

Pledge

Should students be forced to say the pledge?

“Three small-town eighth-graders in Minnesota were suspended by their principal for not standing Thursday morning for the Pledge of Allegiance, violating a district policy that the principal now says may soon be reworded to protect free speech rights.”

Top 10 reasons McCain should repudiate the National Council of La Raza

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Via Michelle Malkin

McCain is looking to bring back Amnesty Part Dos! I don’t trust him on the illegal alien issue for a second. He’s back to implying that anyone who is for enforcing our immigration laws is a bigot and he will meet with the racist pro illegal alien group La Raza (The Race) in July. Michelle gives some reasons why that’s a bad idea.

10. La Raza supports driver’s licenses for illegal aliens.

9. La Raza supports in-state tuition discounts for illegal alien students that are not available to law-abiding US citizens and law-abiding legal immigrants.

8. La Raza opposes cooperative immigration enforcement efforts between local, state, and federal authorities.

Read the whole thing. Let me know what you think.

Rev. Wright Beyond the Bite; See His Context for Yourself

Friday, April 25th, 2008
Click here to read a fuller version of the two Wright sermons, one from the first Sunday after 9/11, “The Day of Jerusalem’s Fall,” and the other delivered in April 2003, entitled “Confusing God and Government.”

Left out of the original sound bites broadcast on “Good Morning America” were Wright’s version of how America was built on terror, his description of the United States “as an arrogant, racist, military superpower,” and comments on the wealth or success of Oprah Winfrey, Colin Power, Condoleezza Rice and Tiger Woods.

Hat tip: ABC news. Yup, you have to go to the full sermons to really understand that Rev. Wright is a racist, anti-American, hate monger. Watch the interview tonight. The Rev. is on his best behavior and Moyers is kissing his… (Posted by Greg)
